A Prosecutor Not A Politician Wes Adams is a career prosecutor with over 20 years of experience. He was first elected to serve as State’s Attorney for Anne Arundel County in 2014. A distinguished leader who continually develops innovative techniques to reduce crime, Wes is a champion victim’s rights.
Wes currently serves as the Secretary for the Maryland State’s Attorney’s Association and is a member of the Maryland State Board of Victim’s Services as well as the Maryland State Police and Corrections Training Commission. He was recently appointed to the Governor’s Council on Gangs and Violent Criminal Networks. His unique expertise has led him to become a widely sought after trainer on topics including DNA admissibility, cell phone evidence, examination of expert medical examiners, and techniques for presenting complex homicides cases.
Wes works tirelessly to improve our criminal justice system at all levels. He continues to be instrumental to the formulation of some of the most pressing issues in criminal law, such as the ability to seek "life without parole" sentences, and the protection of witnesses and victims from intimidation. This has led to better prosecution not only within his own jurisdiction, but across the entire state of Maryland.
After graduating from Amherst College with degrees in Political Science and English, Wes earned his Juris Doctor from the Catholic University Columbus School of Law. He lives in Severna Park with his wife and three children. An active member of our community, he began coaching football and baseball in 2007, and served on the Greater Severna Park Council between 2008 and 2014.
